Water Testing

For many years, students at both Cape Elizabeth Middle School (CEMS) and Cape Elizabeth High School (CEHS) have participated in hands-on, place-based service learning focused on water quality and environmental stewardship. This grant will fund essential equipment to sustain and expand these long-standing programs including TroutKids, a six-year tradition in which 6th grade students raise brook trout in classroom tanks over the winter and release them each spring. At CEHS, this equipment will also support ongoing projects like the Spurwink Marsh monitoring conducted by biology students who partner with the Town of Cape Elizabeth to collect valuable environmental data.
